Manage - hence anticipate

Driving skills - it is not only the ability to manipulate the government car, but also a timely recognition of the dangers arising from the movement, the ability to anticipate the actions of other road users and anticipate dangerous situations and take timely measures to prevent them.

Practice shows that novice drivers, due to lack of experience is not able to anticipate developments. To avoid accidents, they primarily have to comply with extreme caution. An experienced driver for driving all the time holds the key to the cars that are close to him, and it allows him to anticipate the actions of their drivers and predict possible scenarios.
On the road, constantly there are many different situations, and even more options for their development. Virtually all corresponds to a certain set of attributes that the driver must "read" to quickly and accurately simulate the future course of events and then determine for themselves the only correct course of action.
While driving, the driver performs four basic functions: perception of traffic conditions, road situation analysis, decision making, implementation of selected actions. The perception of traffic conditions
Observation - a focus on various elements of road conditions. Monitoring the situation around the vehicle on the roadway and around it. In this opinion the driver should be focused not in front of the hood of the car, and farther forward on the direction of travel, usually conditional point in the middle lane in which the driver wants to be a few seconds, and continuously moves forward at a speed of the car.
Note
In observing the environment the driver's view may be recorded on individual objects or events, but then must return to the center lane. That during the notice that appears dangerous, we must look as far ahead at a distance greater than the vehicle stopping distance.
The most common mistake when observing a long-term focus on facilities (viewing), because of what the driver did not notice the emergence of other hazards. That's why you can not hold his gaze on any object more than 1 second.
There are three main groups of objects on which to focus:

* First, it's road signs, markings, traffic signals or traffic controller.

* Second, the road conditions (the state of road surface, barriers).

* Third, the other members of the movement (vehicles and pedestrians).
Road signs, markings, traffic signals and traffic controller gives you information about the organization of traffic conditions at specific sites.
Road conditions (road surface condition) are important for safety. It should be remembered that for timely assessment of road conditions should be looking at 150 - 200 meters ahead. If you do not have time to assess road conditions, reduce speed.
Observation of other road users need to interact with them, as well as early detection of symptoms by their behavior that may lead to a dangerous situation.
In addition to observation, the driver must still hear the road, ie, listen to the audio, creaking or screeching tires. Unusual or harsh sound should get your attention, make the search for risk, and may be ready to act in a dangerous situation.
Warning
In any situation, always control the environment around the vehicle. Analysis of the traffic situation
Analyzing the situation on the road, the driver must produce hazardous areas, objects and events and to predict their impact on traffic safety. In addition, the driver must also anticipate the possible development of the road situation.
All the objects on the road can be divided into two categories:

* Objects that threaten safety. These include moving vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians on the roadway, as well as sites that cover the review, or reduce the width of the carriageway.

* Objects do not pose danger to traffic. This road signs, markings, traffic lights, advertising.
The Rules of the road does not reveal the concept of "danger", so each driver defines its own based on their own perceptions and experiences.
However, the objective can be regarded as dangerous a situation that creates the real possibility of an accident. In other words, if the further movement of the car with the same speed and in the same direction can lead to accidents, the situation is dangerous and the driver must take measures to reduce speeds or around obstacles in its path.
Ability to foresee or predict the development of the traffic situation - is the ability to correctly assess the degree of danger.
The severity of the situation depends on how many times has the driver to prevent accidents. This means that in a dangerous situation, the driver is from two to five seconds to prevent the accident, and it can only be prevented by fast actions (or the sharp turn the steering wheel or emergency braking). And the driver is unable to consider the possible consequences of these actions for other road users.
For the formation of the drivers' ability to accurately determine the severity of various traffic situations should be in the process of learning to explore the typical dangerous situation and possible options for prevention.
Firstly, the driver is very important to know the danger zone and location of possible occurrence of obstacles, as well as the most typical road sections on which there is increased risk because of poor road conditions:

* Areas with insufficient width of the carriageway - on bridges with the width of the carriageway is less than the roadway, in the areas around bus stops without any special additional band, in the settlements around enterprise service in the absence of sites for the parking lot, on road sections with narrow roadway, especially when unfortified roadsides;

* Delayed steep climbs (and descents) for a large number of vehicles traveling slowly;

* Turns of small radius or zigzag turns at the intersection of sections of railways;

* Sharp bends in the road, starting a convex fracture of the longitudinal profile;

* Crossings (level crossings) with more cars, turn left;

* Sudden change in direction main road in the places of contiguity secondary road, where it seems that the main road going straight;

* Areas with poor visibility in the horizontal and vertical - on convex fractures of the longitudinal profile, the curves in terms of small radius on the ground, covered with forest or in settlements in the alley crop type, located on the crest of the road bed, at the crossroads, some of which are located buildings, pavilions, bus stops, etc.;

* In places where there are no bands of acceleration and deceleration at intersections;

* On the road, where the monotony of roadside landscape contributes to a loss of control over speed or causes rapid fatigue and sleepiness;

* On the road in places reducing areas where bad weather generated fog, sleet and snow rolled forward.
Secondly, the driver in monitoring the other members of the movement must be very careful, and before doing anything else, must accurately determine their true intentions to, for obvious features to anticipate their actions and to take precautions in advance. Intentions of the drivers of other vehicles, can be judged by the following features:

* When a moving car in front has a nonresident license plate, it is likely that his driver was in unfamiliar places and unfamiliar conditions, and may suddenly slow down, take a turn or twist, forgetting about the traffic;

* If the front uncertain or excessively careful moving car, then it is a novice who does not have sufficient management skills, from which we can expect any surprises;

* If the car slows down, and include (or not included) turn indicator begins to shift to the right the driver is going to turn right or stop, but this is a danger that he may turn from the extreme right lane;

* If the vehicle reduces the speed at the middle of the road, its driver intends to turn left or looking for a place to turn, forgetting to include a pointer to the left turn;

* If the car accelerates under the direction indicators and starts to go to the oncoming traffic lane, the driver is going to start overtaking the vehicle in front;

* If the car moves to the center line and into oncoming traffic without changing the speed, it could indicate a detour obstacles;

* If the car moves to the right side of the road without sacrificing speed, the driver is going to produce a meeting of oncoming vehicle;

* If the car slows down and moves to the right edge of the road or even on the sidelines while the left-turn indicators, the driver is going to turn around from the right lane.
Exercise Assessment of road situation "

1. Identification of hazardous areas (intersections, narrow, closed corners, etc.)

2. Evaluation of traffic management (signs, markings, traffic lights).

3. Assessment of road surfacing (pits, potholes, puddles, ice).

4. Assessment of the actions of participants of movement (cars, pedestrians).
Decision-making
Traffic safety in a dangerous situation largely depends on the time spent on decision-making, and it should be no more than 1-2. Making the decision should always be clear - "Yes" or "No" by deleting the definition of "Maybe". Change the decision can only be a sudden change in the situation.
Typically, the driver in dangerous situations must choose one action of the two - "bypass" or "stay". The first thing you should evaluate the driver - is the ability to bypass the obstacle, and if the detour is not possible, the driver shall stop the vehicle. For example, "Detour" - "No" means "Stop" - "Yes."
Note
When choosing their actions the driver needs to operate on the principle of limited trust and consider the possible improper actions of other road users to assess the situation with the expectation of the probable error of their actions.
In many situations, to eliminate the risk sufficiently beep (2-3 beeps) to warn other road users. Implementation of selected actions
After the decision not to defer action because the situation is constantly changing, and may come a time when it would be impossible to prevent the accident.
Attention!
Any sign of danger should be the driver to signal that requires immediate action. The first action is to reduce driver speed.
